Job Description

We are pleased to offer an exciting new opportunity for a Deputy Care Home Manager in a popular 44 bed care home in Liverpool.

We are looking for someone who is dynamic, kind, compassionate and who strives to deliver a high-quality standard of care whilst sharing our values.

As the deputy manager you will support the registered manager in the day-to-day running of the home. In the absence of the manager, you will take responsibility whilst supporting the decisions made by the registered manager.

Salary - Starting at £45,000 raising to £50,000 after probation.

Working Hours - 5 Days over a 7 day period, as agreed with the manager. 

Main responsibilities

  • To ensure service users are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing.
  • The efficient and effective day-to-day management of the human resources involved in providing care through the staff team and ensuring that the required standards are maintained.
  • Ensuring all recording systems and documentation are of a high standard and kept up to date.
  • To ensure all staff receive formal supervision and appraisals.
  • Oversee the duty rota monthly in advance, ensuring the correct number of staff and skill mix as needed.
  • Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service.
  • To develop effective working relationships with all employees within the service.
  • Work in cooperation with members of the multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for people in the service.

 

Skills and attributes

  • You must be registered with the NMC and have full eligibility to live and work in the UK.
  • Previous Deputy Home Manager experience.
  • Supervisory or management qualification commensurate with the role.
  • The ability to engage with the service users to understand their needs in order to provide excellent services of care.
  • Proficient written skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Communication skills.
  • Leadership skills.
